Located over looking the Gannel Estuary which leads directly into Crantock Beach, this is a stunning home with 7 bedrooms, 8 baths which will comfortably sleep 14. Tesla Powerwalls and a Zappi, high speed electric car charger await you.
As soon as you open the front door Heron House treats you to beautiful south-facing views of the Gannel estuary and the fields of Crantock, uninterrupted thanks to the modern 90ft wide glass sliding doors and glass balustraded balcony accessible from the spacious open plan main living area.
Having just undergone a £1m+ renovation this is a stylish and luxurious retreat with all of the mod cons. The pool table or the outdoor pool will keep the kids entertained on the comfy games room snug sofas while your chef cooks up a feast in the excellently appointed kitchen, and you enjoy a glass of the local Camel Valley sparkling wine on the balcony with party tunes playing throughout the home on the easy-to-use Sonos sound system. Maybe after dinner at the 14-seat dining table, you’ll play a few games of pool in the games room or splash around in the outdoor hot tub and heated pool while the garden speakers really get the party started. Of course, you could just sit around the art (Samsung Frame) TV and watch a movie together on the oh-so-comfy corner sofas.
Chef will no doubt be impressed by the Quooker tap providing endless boiling, chilled, and sparkling water, the two Bosch ovens including integrated steam functions and microwave, the induction hob, and the Fisher and Paykel refrigerators and freezers. Not to mention the walk-in butler’s pantry, dual-zone wine fridges, and a huge quartzite counter space including a large breakfast bar.
When you want a more casual summer meal the balcony is fitted with a luxury gas barbecue, and you can enjoy this together on the all-weather outdoor furniture, which is also a perfect place to hide in a book for a few hours.
You’ll retire at the end of the night to comfy beds in any of the 7 bedrooms, one of which you’ll find upstairs on the main floor; it’s a self-contained super-king bedroom, bathroom with shower, and kitchenette with hob, oven, and washer dryer, and has direct street access. Whoever stays in this room will benefit from stunning views from the large glass doors. This room could also be ideal as a private suite for anyone who prefers to escape to their own space during downtime. For the other 6 bedrooms you’ll head downstairs. Only the kids bunk-bed room is without an en suite bathroom but its private bathroom is just across the corridor. Three of the super-king rooms have glass sliding doors opening directly onto the terrace, garden, and pool. The house is designed to comfortably accommodate up to 12 adults and 2 kids.
Additionally downstairs, you’ll find the laundry room in case you want to get started on the holiday laundry before leaving.
While five bathrooms have both rainfall and handheld walk-in showers, two have walk-in showers plus a free standing bathtub to soak away your troubles. Sanitaryware throughout is gleaming white Villeroy and Boch, including the guest WC which has a “surprising” bidet toilet on the main floor.
Hopefully, you can hang up your laptop bag at home before setting off to enjoy your holiday, but for those times when work can’t be ignored Heron House offers a good-sized office with wonderful views of the estuary; a great place to take those urgent calls or video conference.
At the front of the property, you’ll find the two-car garage with an EV (Electric Vehicle) charger, and a carriage drive big enough for five cars. The garage is accessible from the house through a boot/mud room so you can take off those sandy walking boots before entering the main living space.
Downstairs in the well-presented garden you’ll be able to laze by the pool or in the hot tub. If you’re more of a seafaring adventurer, there are kayaks and SUPs (Standup Paddle Boards) available*.
At low tide the estuary is perfect for even the most nervous of beginners, and you can shower off the seawater on your return in the heated outdoor shower, hang up the wetsuits to dry, and enter directly to the bedroom floor from there.
Heron House is just a 15 minute walk to the south end of surfers’ paradise Fistral beach, and in another 10 minutes you can be eating some of the best fish & chips the UK has to offer at Rick Stein’s restaurant at the north end of the beach, or relax with a beer watching the waves and world class surf action.
Simply put, Heron House will meet all of your expectations for a high-end break – whether you’re looking for a multi-generational family vacation, or a champagne-fuelled getaway with friends.
