Join Tesla Owners Belgium, Tesla Owner Netherlands, Electrify Europe and DronePort to attempt to bring the world record of the most amount of Teslas performing a perfectly synchronised light show to Europe, an immersive spectacle unlike anything you’ve ever seen, orchestrated by [xLightshows.io](http://xlightshows.io/?fbclid=IwZXh0bgNhZW0CMTAAAR0eoSiDZ6W3guzBRMUQH00G9Y-NKCJJvvpVlFGQw0tamXQjZjBl176iC9k_aem_-YwP-SmR4ia1oAMGg-s2dQ) and complemented with a spectacular drone light show performed by Dutch Drone Shows. This is not a Tesla Owners UK event but we know several members will be keen to take part so we are helping to promote the event. 

Anyone may join. Tesla Models 3 and Y can always participate in the custom light show, and Models S and X should be from 2022 onwards.

#TeslaTakeover is going global. We are taking this iconic event to Europe with Tesla Club Austria. May 25-26 2024, Tesla Takeover Europe in Austria will be launching. We couldn’t be more excited to unite owners in EU and celebrate all things Tesla.

European Tesla Clubs together with the Tesla Owners Club Silicon Valley, are working on the European version of the Tesla Takeover Event. For those of you interested, MotorSports Events are running a Track Day on Friday 23rd Feb at Abingdon Airfield. Good value at only £149 for the day.

This is the perfect place to go on your first track day if you have never been before.

It's a nice big airfield with no walls or tyres to hit, just the odd cone if you really go wrong. Helmet rental and instruction is available - all you need to bring is you and your car!

Abingdon Track Day

North East Regional Chapter are holding its 1st Cars & Coffee meeting on the 11th of February, 2024; I hope many of you can attend as we want to make this a monthly event to chat about Teslas and EVs and, of course, Everything Electric as well. North East: Cars & Coffee

Now that Tesla have commissioned their four Superchargers at Gridserve's latest Electric Forecourt, we have been invited to take a look for ourselves. Probably best to only park on the Gridserve Gatwick Electric Forecourt (for less than an hour) if you are happy to charge, as there are hardly any bays without chargers. There are just four Tesla Superchargers which seem to be pretty busy. There is the option to move (or go directly to) the South Terminal Long Stay car park (///cheek.quench.charm - 5 minutes walk) which is free for the first 2 hours. Not ideal for a meetup I know. We are meeting there as a one-off to support Gridserve at the launch of their latest Electric Forecourt.

South East: Gridserve Gatwick Electric Forecourt Opening

First Sunday of every month - Tesla Owners UK: North East & Teesside Regional Group meet for an informal chat over a brew and a bacon butty. All Tesla owners are welcome to join. North East & Teesside: Cars and Coffee

To book the Porsche Track at Silverstone for the day it costs £25,000... but if you book your Tesla into their 'Open Drive' event it's £175pp (with an instructor for 90 minutes) + lunch for £30pp. The problem is they don't run these events often (normally once per year) and they never publish the dates on the website, so if you register your interest below, once we confirm a date with Porsche we will email you the details on how to book. 

To be clear the date will NOT be December 31st 2022, but we're required to add a date. We will email you once we confirm the date.

Porsche Centre Takeover (Date TBC)

The TOUK 2023 Brecon Rally will take place on Saturday as well as Sunday (14th and 15th Oct). Start position is yet to be finalized but is likely to be either Sarn SuC or the Celtic Manor at approx 10/11 am (Final details TBC closer to date)

The Rally runs up through Treorchy and then onto Brecon and Builth Wells and back.  The Sat and Sun routes are different in that they are reversed.  If you did the route last year on a Saturday, then pick Saturday this year for the alternate route and  vice versa if you did Sunday last year.

Duration of the event will be around 5 hours but could push to 6 depending on photo stops/chats/picnics etc (it’s quite a social event).

The rally has been running since 2018 and we believe that all that have taken part have had a pretty good time (not had any negative comments yet), so if you feel like testing the legs of your Tesla, sign up via a link above and rock on down to Sarn on either the 14th or 15th of Oct.

Brecon Rally 2023

We asked Harmony Energy if we could tour Europe's LARGEST Battery Storage location and they've said YES, we have 50 tickets which will be distributed on a first come first served basis.

Tesla Megapack Tour 13th October 2023

With many racing circuits in the UK banning or being quite reluctant to allow electric vehicles to attend, we believe it's important to show there is a market for EVs on tracks and showcase how incredibly fun EVs can be on a track. So whether you're a complete track novice or have a race licence, we want as many electric vehicle owners to book on to this EV-only track day on October 3rd at Castle Combe to prove to the naysayers that EVs have a place in UK Motorsport.

We will have exclusivity of the track, and only 12 cars will be on track at any time, so it's beginner friendly. Personal instruction is available. Nearby rapid chargers and superchargers are available. The event is open to both Tesla owners and all Electric Vehicles owners (no combustion engine).

**Location:** Castle Combe Circuit, Wiltshire (Near Bristol)

**Date:** Tuesday, October 3rd, 2023

**Times:** Driver briefing 8.30am. Track open 9am-12.30pm and 1.30pm-5pm. Open pit lane.

**Cost:** Tickets are £150 per driver (including VAT) and £30 (inc VAT) for additional drivers, we will not make a profit on this event, the aim is to cover costs.

**Organiser:** Dave Broadway with support from Tesla Owners UK (not-for-profit club).

**Insurance / Liability:** Motorsport is dangerous, but if you follow the instructions of the circuit organisers and you're sensible, it's fairly safe; however, your insurance policy likely will not cover you for any track driving so by buying a ticket you understand you do this at your own risk. There is no requirement to be insured when on a track, however, track-day insurance might be available to you via a 3rd party. By buying a ticket you understand you cannot hold Tesla Owners UK Limited or Dave Broadway (organiser) liable for any damages or additional costs incurred to you, your vehicle or any third party. All drivers will need to complete an indemnity form on the day. You will need a driving licence.

**Charging:** The session is long but it will depend on how many laps you do to what State of Charge you arrive with or whether you go off and charge midway through the day. We would suggest arriving with at least 70% (if not more) for optimal performance. There are no on-site chargers available, however, plenty of high-powered rapid chargers nearby (nearest is 8 miles away).

**Do I need a helmet or any other protective gear?** You will need a helmet, these are available fairly inexpensively (e.g. [https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/364058825385](https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/364058825385) or [https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/143464582418](https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/143464582418)), you can also rent helmets from the circuit (please contact the Circuit directly) &/or it might be possible to share helmets with a friend/others attending. You will also need to wear long sleeve t-shirt/top, trousers and suitable footwear (e.g. trainers/closed-toe shoes).

**Can I fix a Go-Pro / Action camera to my car?** Please check with instructors on the day

**Will I ruin my tyres?** You should ensure your tyres are properly inflated and you check your pressures throughout the day but as long as you don't drive too aggressively your tyres should be OK. If you're unsure speak with the instructors/staff.

**Food & Drink -** The cafe will be open for breakfast and lunch.

Switch Live @ Silverstone Festival

We have a fantastic opportunity to visit the RAF Valley Family Day, it will include airshows and many other activities throughout the day.

We visited last year and had limited tickets, it was amazing and many more people wanted to attend than we could facilitate.

Thanks to RAF Valley (Em Pea) we have been allowed much more room.

Tesla has invited the official owners club of the United Kingdom to a private tour of Gigafactory Berlin-Brandenburg on Friday July 28th at 12pm - We've only got 45 places, so we're releasing tickets at **8pm on Monday June 19th** on a first come first served basis, so set your alarms and refresh this page then and book! 

* We have been allocated 45 spaces for UK Owners, which we will split as follows:
 * 2 for the winners of our annual dinner auction

 * 6 committee members to support with on-the-ground organising and transport

**About the ticket price**
There is a £50 cost this cover the price of your t-shirt and the majority (if not all) of the group meal on the Thursday evening. There is no cost from Tesla for the tour but we want to ensure people don't book tickets (because they're free) and then they don't turn up. The club will not make a profit from the event, if there is a surplus after the event you will be refunded accordingly.

**About the hotel/s**
Berlin offers a wide selection of hotels, the majority of the group will be staying at [nHow Berlin](https://www.nhow-hotels.com/en/nhow-berlin) (4.5/5 on TripAdvisor) @ \~£90-£120 per night, so for ease of getting to the factory and the dinner it's recommended that you book here. This hotel is well rated and nearby to the train station and has car parking (€18/day).

**The Dinner**
On the Thursday evening we've booked a restaurant for everyone to attend, details of this will be on the Whatsapp group, the remaining balance of the £50 will go towards this dinner, any extra will need to be paid by yourself to the restaurant.

**I want to drive in the convoy / car share - What is happening with this?**
We actively encourage all members to travel by car and car share to lower costs + environmental impact. Once you've secured your ticket and joined the Whatsapp group we can discuss car sharing / insurance / Berlin EV permits etc

**About the tour**

* There will be 3 tours of 15 people
* The tour lasts approximately 1-2 hours and follows the production process of Model Y. You will see all aspects of the vehicle manufacturing process including casting.
* You will receive a detailed email with more information regarding the tour once your request for the tour has been confirmed.
* You will need proof of ID on the day.
* No photography is allowed.

**Cancellation Policy**
If you wish to cancel you can do so upto 14 days prior to the event, however, after then your t-shirt will be printed and it will not be possible to cancel. If you cannot make the event able to fill the place with someone else then there is scope for changing this.

Lydden Hill Sprint July 15th

A group of Tesla owners will embark on a 7-day rally across Europe from London to Split, Croatia, along the way, there are challenges, comradery and plenty of laughs. At the end, those with the most points are crowned the champion.

**This is the outline of the route** (purposely left vague to avoid giving clues)**:**

Start at London Dartford Supercharger on 2nd July 2023. Travel across France, into Germany, taking a scenic route to Fussen. Stay 2 nights there as we have had two long days travelling. Head via the Austrian mountains to Bolzano in Italy. Travel via the Dolomites to just north of Venice. From there, follow the coast to Split in Croatia, arriving on the 8th of July 2023.


**Daily mileage estimates:**

* Day 1: 411 miles (based on everyone starting from Dartford Supercharger)
* Day 2: 343 miles
* Day 3: Rest Day
* Day 4: 199 miles
* Day 5: 155 miles
* Day 6: 195 miles
* Day 7: 195 miles

Most people enter as a small team (2-3 drivers) or family (2-3 drivers) to split up the driving. 

The club doesn't organise this event ourselves, but a longstanding member Gary Blackburn does on our behalf, he provides a full guide on the group on what you need to do including booking your hotels.

* **What are the session times?** There is a morning session that starts at 9am and an afternoon session that starts at \~1pm. Please aim to arrive 15-30 minutes before. If you're early you can spectate the other session. In short, we have the venue from 8.30am until 6:00pm.
* **Is there water and hot drinks available?** Yes, there is a chilled water dispenser and free hot drinks available in the skid pan classroom.
* **Is it cold there?** You will be either in your (heated) car or in the heated classroom for the majority of the day, however, it can be quite cold up there (it's on the grounds of an airfield) so best to take a jacket etc if you plan to be outside of your car or the classroom for any length of time.
* **Is there hot food available?** Hot food (e.g. All Day Breakfasts, Baguettes/Sandwiches, Jacket Potatoes, Fish and Chips etc) and other refreshments are available in the Jackaroo airport cafe opposite the Thruxton Centre (opening times vary but normally 10am–3pm).
* **Are there car charging facilities on-site?** Yes, there is a public Geniepoint rapid charger providing 50kW DC CHAdeMO/Combo (CCS) & 43 kW AC cable at £1.00 + £0.42/kWh and two 22kW AC sockets at £0.50 + £0.42/kWh adjacent to the skid pan. * **Are there superchargers nearby?** Yes 16 bay at Solstice Park or 2 bay at Norton Park
* **Are there other nearby rapid charging facilities?** Yes, GeniePoint and Shell Recharge in Andover and Gridserve Electric Highway near Norton Park superchargers (A34), use Zap-map or similar to find them
* **What state of charge should I arrive with?** Whilst the session is 4 hours long, you won't be driving any great distance in that time as the skid pan circuit is more about low to medium speed handling. We would recommend arriving with at least 60% SoC for optimal performance + to get you on your way home after the event.
* **Are spectators allowed to come?** You can bring spectators with you free of charge, speak with the instructors on the day to confirm where they should stand.
* **Can spectators take photographs?** Yes, please check with the instructors on the best places to stand. The club is always interested in any photos you have so please speak with [social@teslaowners.org.uk](mailto:social@teslaowners.org.uk) if you have some great shots we can share.
* **Can I have passengers in my car?** In the past this has been allowed, please check with instructors on the day.
* **Do I need a helmet?** No, just a seat belt
* **Can I fix a Go-Pro / Action camera to my car?** Please check with instructors on the day
* **Will I ruin my tyres?** No, the surface is incredibly slippery so tyre wear will be minimal and there is plenty of space to spin without coming off this, however, the area around the skid pan is extra grippy (to ensure you don't drive off the track into the grass) so follow the instructor's advice to avoid driving too aggressively in these areas.
* **Do I need track day insurance?** It's not required
* **Will my car insurance company cover me for this?** Due to the nature of the event having an accident is extremely unlikely, however, you would need to check with your insurance provider for the specifics on what you would be covered for.
* **This is an exclusive event for Tesla owners only**, but all models are welcome (come on you X owners and Roadster owners)
* **Is the venue Covid-19 safe?** Yes, please ensure you follow Covid-19 precautions at all times.
* **I need to cancel** No refunds can be given if you fail to attend or cancel within 2 weeks of the event. We should be able to swap names though if you wanted to sell your ticket to someone else, please contact [events@teslaowners.org.uk](mailto:events@teslaowners.org.uk)

Jeremy, Ken and Gary are looking to organise the next instalment of the now infamous Brecon run.
Depending on sign-ups we’ll aim to run one or two days.
Leaving Sarn services SuC at approximately 10:00 we’ll be taking an established route through the stunning Welsh countryside up to Garth and back.
It’s about 6 hours and covers about 150 miles and will take in delights such as the Penderynn Distillery and Brecon Visitors centre.

Learn to control your own car (with expert instructors) in conditions similar to ice and snow in complete safety on a skid pan. Polished concrete and filtered water are used to ensure your car won't be harmed in any way and there is nothing to hit if you spin. The session lasts for approx. 4 hours in total with a maximum of 10 drivers. You can share a car but each driver needs to book a place. Spectators are welcome. No special insurance cover is required. No refunds can be given if you fail to attend or cancel within 2 weeks of the event.

Electric Vehicles Festival - Gaydon

We have
been asked if Tesla Owners UK would like to take part in the inaugural London
to Brighton EV Rally, taking place on Sunday 18 July 2021.  The event is being organized by the same team
behind the annual vintage car London to Brighton rally.

At this
stage we are looking to see how many Tesla teams would be interested in taking
part.  Please register your interest.

Teams
gather at 7am on Millbank, and actually start at 8:30 from Parliament Square,
and then you drive in convoy via a set route to Brighton.  Where all participants line up on Madeira
drive, next to the beach.  The total distance of the route is
58.7 miles.

The aim of the rally is not to be first, but to use as little energy in your class as
possible (standard car / SUV).  Those with a Model 3 SR+ or a Model X Lone Range Plus should do well.

To enter a
car the cost is £50.

There are events
on the Saturday evening in London, and on the Sunday evening in Brighton.

As there is
no car sharing, and the event is entirely outdoors, we would expect it to be
covid safe.
